Well it is at this time of year we all start planning for the next years mods and shows and the dreaded "C" word (Christmas). But for now sit back relax and have a look at this months spotlight car owened by Tom P10. He has worked very hard on his car and this is long over due. Congratulations from everyone at Pure P10.
How dose it feel to you have a spotlight car?
I'm just glad people like my car as much as I do and it's nice for my hard work and the car to be appreciated.
What is special about your car?
It is a nice biggish car, which handles very well, goes well for a 1.6 and is cheap insurance!
What was your best mod?
Well, if you ask my mates, they say the coolest mod is my start button! I went to a local scrap yard and saw a R33 skyline. On the boot is a Nissan badge, which is the Nissan logo encased in glass surrounded by chrome. This pivots up and then houses the keyhole for the boot. It is really cool looking and good quality so I got hold of it and mounted it in the centre of my dash, installed a heavy duty start button behind it and now have a cool start button!
What was the hardest mod?
Definitely the exhaust! I wanted twins so I bought an Urban X one from eBay because it is full stainless steel, had internal welds so looked really neat finish and it was cheap. Trouble is I had to make up the pipe between back box and the last flanged joint in 2¼" pipe and it has to navigate around all the suspension! I made up the shape and some mates at work welded it up for me (cheers Steve, Kevin & Jamie!)
Sounds good!
What was your best buy?
Had a few good buys, the eGT leather seats are one - £60 for full set although because they were for saloon had to modify the hook brackets on the backs slightly. Also the starter button was only a couple of quid to do!
What was your worst buy?
Haven't really had any bad buys yet, but the footwell neon's I bought were poor quality and I broke one. So I haven't put any in now so suppose that was a bit of a waste of money but they were not expensive so I'm not too worried.
What are you going to do next?
Stop buying things and start fitting bits which I already have! I have some side skirts to fit, some lowering springs, got to sort my cold air intake to my induction filter, sort my exhaust out (again!), maybe some decals, fit an eGT spoiler I should be getting soon, maybe some KYB adjustables, maybe some GT LE wheels from a P11 and possibly modify my front bumper (it could do with a respray any way)!
Just like to say how much this website has helped and how friendly everyone is. Thanks to all the people who have helped me with my car including all at Primera clubs, mates at work & my Dad (I sound like one of those people at the awards, but don't worry I wont mention my pets & long lost aunts)
Cheers
Tom
